About Seton Pre-School and Day Care Center
Seton is a Montessori-based, developmental program for children from 2 months to 6 years. Established in 1972, Seton was one of the first centers of its kind in the New York area; a place where working families could come for quality all day child care in a group setting.
Its mission is to support the development of each child in a warm and nurturing atmosphere and to assist families by providing consistent and responsive child care in an enriching and educational environment. Strengthened by the diversity and the commitment of the parent body, Seton strives to be a home away from home for the children and families it serves.
The programs of Seton are based on an adaptation of the design and philosophy of Maria Montessori’s developmental approach to life and human development from birth to adulthood. A further extension of our mission is to provide an environment where parents are welcomed and valued as partners in the education and support of their children.
Sponsored by The New York Foundling, Seton is licensed by the Department of Health, Bureau of Day Care of the City of New York. Seton is a member of the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY) and affiliated with the American Montessori Society.
